Company History

Skydive Algarve is the newest addition to the Swallow Group, which also includes Skydive Hibaldstow in the UK and Skydive Spain near Seville.

Originally established in 1999, but under new British ownership since December 2014, Skydive Algarve has plans to develop this fantastic skydiving location and make it bigger and better than it already is.

The Skydive Algarve drop zone is open 365 days a year and we are committed to flying a fast turbine aircraft to 14,000ft (4300m), offering one of the highest altitudes for skydiving in Portugal and one of the best skydiving experiences with spectacular views over The Algarve.

New staff have been employed to help run our skydiving centre, including eight full-time highly experienced skydiving instructors who between them speak six languages, allowing us to welcome an international clientele and offer AFF training in multiple languages.

The Swallow Group drop zones, owned by a skydiving family, are well-known for flying hard and flying high with a reputation for efficiency and excellent safety standards. Founded over 20 years ago Skydive Hibaldstow has grown to become the largest civilian parachute centre in the UK and in the past decade Skydive Spain has become one of the most popular European drop zones offering a first class experience.

We also lease and maintain our own fleet of aircraft from Wingglider Europe which consists of an extensive aircraft engineering department and ATO enabling training and examining of pilots. Please see our aircraft page for more details on our jump planes.

The Swallow Group also offers sail training opportunities on a traditional tall ship ‘Maybe’.  Maybe Sailing focuses on enabling underprivileged children to go sailing and strongly believes in the benefits of sail training in youth development.
