FIRST LOAD MAFIA

First Load Mafia is the poster child for giving up on the rat race and changing your life in the pursuit of something utterly pointless and beautiful. Each of its core members at some point threw away everything and adventured off to dedicate every waking energy to learning about falling out of the sky, with style. Starting at the bottom, they did everything they could just to be at a dropzone every day and to keep jumping. The name itself comes from this time when the only way to get a jump together was on the first load of the day before the long hours of DZ work started.

FLM offers honest and dedicated coaching for individuals or groups in all popular disciplines, video flying and editing, load organising and other assorted mayhem. FLM remain focused on FreeFly, Fun Jumping (and generally being broke and happy) Through their ethos they have gained a high level not only in flying skills but also in the theory of skydiving in general, from the basic philosophy of saftey and progression and dropzone functionality to the less discussed aspects such as “why do we jump?”, “what are we running from?” and “who is buying the next round?”

For FLM nothing brings more joy than seeing a student progress and their smile on the landing area when they have just nailed a new trick. Importantly to them- FLM only partakes in outdoor skydiving. While the windtunnel is certainly a wonderful tool to ultra rapid progression they see things slightly differently. The goal is not to turbo boost to the top. When we reach the top then what is there left to do? For FLM skydiving is 100% an outdoor sport.

The core Mafia members can be found at Skydive Algarve and Skydive Spain and are always available for a day of training, organising or fun jumping. They consist of: Hamish Cameron, Willem de Groot, Alistair Cameron, Devon Apps, and Serena di Santo!

HANNAH PARKER

Originally from England, Hannah has been chasing the sun around the world for 8 years and now has over 5,500 jumps. Her passion is in all things freeflying with a focus on vertical flying after being on the Women’s Vertical World Record in 2016 and having competed in VFS.

Mostly she just wants to share her energy and passion for flying with everyone. It’s all about being able to learn to fly and enjoy the best sport in the world in the safest and best way possible. She is also available for small group coaching and big way skills training.

JUNIOR THE SKYDIVING THERAPIST

Junior is from Brazil and has a degree in Electronic Engineering. He’s been living in the Algarve since 2017 and already feels like a local.

Junior offers Skydive mentoring & coaching and believes that skydiving is much more than jumping out of airplanes. It´s life changing.

Junior’s mission is to help people build their skydiving foundations and connect them with other skydivers.

He started jumping in 1996, and built his skydive knowledge with many professional & passionate skydivers, during  trips to several dropzones around the world.

Everyone is unique therefore Junior’s pledge is to help his students, in a no-rush environment, to learn & improve their FS (belly), Sit Fly (head up), or Tracking/Angle skills, using tools and coaching methods tailor-made to suit their needs.

Junior is a USPA and FAI rated instructor but is also able to coach his students towards the BS (Brisitsh Skydiving) qualifications as well as towards their FS1, FF1, TR1, TR2 stickers.

A little known fact about Junior- he is also a food lover and can help you to discover the amazing cuisine of the Algarve.

OSCAR ASFURA

Oscar Asfura, was born in Chile and started skydiving in 2011. Since then, he has been been mostly jumping in the USA and Spain and has worked as a wind tunnel instructor at Paraclete XP.

Looking back over the last 5 years, Oscar has done a lot of load organising and coaching worldwide, including skill camps and boogies in South America, Europe, Australia the US and many more.

Oscar is available for 1 on 1 coaching aswell as for coaching in groups.
