Our Story
Skydive Algarve was founded in 2004 at Portimão Airfield. In 2014, the centre joined the Swallow Group, a family-owned skydiving organisation whose roots in the sport go back to the 1970s in the United Kingdom. They have been operating world-class skydiving centres since 1992. Under the Swallow Group, Skydive Algarve has grown into Portugal’s most trusted and awarded skydiving centre.

Part of the Swallow Group
Skydive Algarve is part of the Swallow Group, one of Europe’s leading skydiving organisations, operating world-class skydiving centres across Europe since 1992. The group operates Skydive Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, founded in 1992, and Skydive Spain in Seville, Spain, founded in 2005.
The group also operates Wingglider, a specialist aviation division that owns, maintains and leases skydiving aircraft to centres across Europe, and Maybe Sailing, offering multi-day tall ship voyages aboard two classic wooden sailing vessels. If the sky is not enough, the sea awaits.
Safety & Certifications
At Skydive Algarve, safety is our priority. We are a certified operator by ANAC, Portugal’s national civil aviation authority. All our tandem instructors hold licences issued by the FPPQ, Portugal’s national skydiving federation, and are certified to operate the UPT SIGMA tandem system, one of the most trusted tandem equipment systems in the world. We are also affiliated with the USPA, the United States Parachute Association, one of the leading skydiving safety organisations globally.
As part of the Swallow Group, whose origins lie in the United Kingdom, we also operate in accordance with the safety standards of the BS, British Skydiving Association, bringing together the best of British, American and Portuguese skydiving safety frameworks to deliver the highest possible standards at every jump.
Our equipment is maintained to the highest international standards and subject to regular independent inspections by our in-house certified rigger. Every jump and every flight at Skydive Algarve is conducted to the highest international safety standards.
Fast, Safe & Comfortable Aircraft
At Skydive Algarve we operate a fleet of specialist turbine skydiving aircraft, including the Cessna Caravan C208B and the Dornier G92, two of the most trusted skydiving aircraft in the world. Our fleet is operated and maintained by Wingglider, a specialist aviation division that maintains and leases skydiving aircraft to centres across Europe, bringing the same level of expertise and professionalism to every flight.
