World Champions “Hayabusa” are a 4 way FS military team from Belgium.
“With the end of a tough 2020 behind us, it feels great to look ahead and plan for a new season. The COVID pandemic had forced us to make a line-up change earlier than we had planned for. Mike (Michele Silvi) became my new piece partner, as Dave was going for the camera slot after many very successful years as a 4way competitor. Luc our oldest member of HayaBusa was ready for his retirement over the summer.
After sitting together to make our ideal training program for 2021, one thing was clear. The early months of outdoor training would have to be at Skydive Algarve. After kick-starting our 2018 season in the Algarve all of us found a new home away from home. Being able to leave the grey and wet weather of Belgium, and train early in the year has, without a doubt been instrumental in getting us to the top of the podium in Australia. Standing on top feels amazing ofcource, but it also feels like you are standing on top of a huge iceberg. The people only see the top, but you know there is a huge amount of work and jumps below the surface. Jumps made possible by so many people supporting the team. This is where Skydive Algarve really understood our needs from the beginning. Early start of the day, good and fast packers, great pilots and predictable drops, friendly and helpful manifest and ground control. The whole SDA team was making sure we could jump as much and as fast as we wanted to, did I mention being able to board the plane in front of the hangar :p? After what feels like ages, we can’t wait to be back in the sky and start building the bottom of a new iceberg!”
